Bills and Redskins Start Coaching Merry-Go-Round
One day after the end of the regular season and there are two NFL coaches in need of new employment after Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn and Buffalo counterpart Perry Fewell were handed their marching orders.
Zorn's firing in Washington was more predictable than the leading teams in the league resting their stars in week 17, and there is probably a bit more to Fewell's dismissal in Buffalo than meets the eye.
While Zorn may never get another head coaching gig after going 4-12 with Dan Snyder's money behind him, the people that matter in Buffalo might just be about to re-hire Fewell. The team has confirmed that he will be interviewed for the job he took on in the interim in mid-season when Dick Jauron was fired.

Fewell is very highly regarded as a coach, going 3-4 in his time in charge despite not having a quarterback worthy of the name to run his offense - he is also more of a defensive mastermind.
But the Bills have now missed the playoffs for the 10th successive season and it's a pretty reasonable bet that they will look for a headline name to take over ā a real pity for Fewell, who should at least get a co-ordinator job with a decent team. The smart NFL betting will be on Fewell making a swift return to a high-profile position.
The Bills also parted company with every single coach on their books, suggesting that big changes are in the offing. But why bother when the best offensive talents on their roster are hugely overrated and perhaps even past it? Look at Marshawn Lynch who can't even motivate himself to outplay Fred Jackson to regain his starting role.
Are fans making the trip out to Ralph Wilson Stadium going to be happy with yet another rebuilding year? Well, it seems unlikely that the Bills will make a big splash in free agency after wasting money on Owens, but is what they need available in the draft? Highly unlikely!
John Harbaugh ā there is the name to look out for here. Not a big name but one that should be at the forefront of the mind for teams seeking a new coach. He's performed miracles with the limited resources of the Stanford program and is ready for the NFL.Ā
If you think you know your NFL betting odds, then get your money on the Bills deciding on rebuild, and doing it well with the right man at the helm.
