What was the difference from this year and last year? Well, I'll tell you in this article, how the Carolina Panthers went from 12-4, To a losing season. I will breakdown our season difference position by position, from QB to Special Teams. Be sure to check out the Offence (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/314623-what-happend-to-the-12-4-carolina-panthers-offense). In this section I will talk about "Defense, and Special Teams". Be sure to keep a look out for "Coaching", then "The Overview".

RDE: Julius Peppers has been running a little slow this season. Some thing in my heart says that he doesn't want to play for the Panthers anymore (hope i'm wrong). Last season Julius, had 51 tackles 14.5 sacks. This year he has had 39 Tackles and 10.5 sacks. This isn't the Julius Peppers that I know. On the side lines Julius haven't been trying to "spark" the team at all. Its just obvious that his days are over with the Carolina Panthers

LDE: Tyler Brayton on the other hand has been constant with his totals last year, 40 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Compared to this years total 41 Tackles and 5.0 sacks. Thats about as close as you get. Also that's pretty much all that your asking for from Tyler Brayton.

DT: The DT postion has been plagued by injuries. Personally I think if Maake Kemoeatu never went down in pre-preseaon this position wouldn't have been a problem (But he did so 'eh). Last season Maake Kemoeatu had 36 tackles and one forced fumble. This season Hollis Thomas has 31 tackles and one safety. Position is about even, but those games we were missing a big run stuffer in the middle we were hurt. We went 0-3 against, Phillidelpha, and Atlanta.

D-line: The defensive line has been terrible this year. Allowing running backs to get to the second level. thus being part of what is allowing 125.7 yards/game on the ground. Also they haven't been getting to the QB the way they should be (Marking out these past two games).

LOLB: This is another position on the defense that has been plagued with injuries. Na'il Diggs has 28 tackles, And in the seven games Thomas Davis played he totaled 61 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions. Davis would have obviously been better then Diggs (no knock on Diggs).

MLB: Jon Beason had topped his rookie and his sophomore year. With 140 tackles 3 ints. 1 Forced Fumble. Thus saying there has been no decline in this position.

ROLB: Another position that needed to be plugged-in with an backup. James Anderson has had 59 tackles 1 sack and 1 forced fumbled Last year Na'il Diggs who played this potion totaled 54 tackles 1 sack 1 interception. Not much of a decline in this position.

Secondary: I've decided to do the secondary as an whole because everything was pretty much the same. The Carolina Panthers allowed 211.7 yards/game and 19 TD's the whole season. But this year The Carolina Panthers allowed 196.9 yards/game and only 14 TD's with only the Saints left on schedule.
