As a Steeler Fan to say that I am upset and dissapointed is a true understatement.  If all of you had of told me that the Steelers would not be defending their Superbowl Champsionship, I would have told you stop mixing heroin and crack rock in your Long Island Ice tea.

The reality is the Steelers are not going to defend their 6th coveted Superbowl Championship.  They are not going to instill any fear into any team this playoff season. The Steelers are not going to go down fighting in any round of the playoffs.  The Steelers fans will have to watch other teams continue to play in the NFL second season. Ewwwwwwww the sheer thought of seeing those UGLY Bengal uniforms.

Too little, to defend a 6th Superbowl Championship because the Steelers finally learned how to win a couple of close games in a row after dropping 5 in a row and 3 of the 5 to the likes of the Raiders, Chiefs, and Browns.  These 3 teams showed up and out coach, out played the Superbowl Champions and cast the first nails into the coffin of the Steelers playoff chances.

Too late, to defend a 6th Superbowl Championship because the Steelers allowed themselves to be sweeped by the lowly Bengals.  Yeah the Bengals a team that bascially just bumbled their way to the AFC North Title.  Heck the Steelers unlike the Bengals beat the Vikings, Chargers, and Denver and the Bengals did not and also lost to the Raiders after the Steelers, which shows the Bengals weren't paying attention otherwise they would have showed up like a true AFC CHAMPION.

To try and defend a Superbowl Championship requires a special focus, a same one mindedness, attention to detail.  True Champions having already gone thru the road less traveled are chisled and welcome the grind that it takes to overcome injured comrads, weak leadership, and the back breaking strain to will the body to push forward. Not these Steelers, not this Coaching Staff, not this year.

This will be the second time this has happened to the Steelers they make the Superbowl and fail to fully defend the following season.  They say those that do not read history are doomed to repeat it.  Coach Tomlin needed to revisit his approach throwing out mantras of we will unleash hell is not a prudent way of fixing what is wrong with a Champion, the cliche of we are staying the course is foolish when on that course you have dropped 3 in a row.  The third loss is a clear sign that drastic changes and shake ups are required.  Lastly looking mean for the camera being short with answers, body posturing, pulling your hat down low over your eyes is not going to impress anyone much less the players.

In closing  the Steelers have a lot to reflect on this offseason, and a lot to self evaluate.  A lot of what went wrong can be fixed.   This year it is too little too late.  Next year Hope, Faith, and Love begin anew!!!
