                                  Energize Me!

Bruce "Gman " Gradkowski took the reigns Sunday against the Bengals to the delight of Raider fans everywhere to energize a lethargic Raider team. Replacing an inneffective Russell was enough to give all of Raider Nation hope for the future, and the future is here now! Off to a slow start the networks were talking the "same old Raider" rhetoric they love to spew but when he settled into the rhythm of the game in the second quarter and second half it was apparent that something new was being born. Is Gman a superstar quarterback coming to the rescue of the Raiders? No, he's what the Raiders are all about, a blue collar, hard working quarterback with a fierce will to win.

Showing his ability to read defenses and find the open guy he hit all his receivers for at least one completion. He finished with 17 completions for 34 attempts, but came through when it mattered most for 183 yds. and a 12.2 yards per completion average. He passed for 2 touchdowns with one int. as he was hit while releasing the ball. His on field energy was contagious and seemed to lift the play of the whole team! The offensive line deserves a lot of credit for keeping the Bengals rushers at bay as they refused to allow a sack all day. The Raiders showed, heart, tenacity and the will to win as they came back from a 14 point deficit to shock the talented Bengal team.

Gman showed Raider Nation what we believed all along, that we do have a good team and just needed a new play caller to get us in gear. Our wide outs looked  like winners and showed some true poise down the stretch as they made play after play when it counted most. Maybe we've got a good group after all eh?

Bruce "Gman" Gradkowski....A Working Mans Quarterback for a Blue Collar Team!

                                                Go RAIDERS !!!

Special note*      The entire Raider team played as a unit today but I would like to give special attention for outstanding play to our Defense! Our Defense stopped the Bengals cold in the second half allowing just 1 field goal. They combined for 58 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception.                                     Spotlight of the week goes to emerging star Tyvon Branch! He played like a superstar with 11 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. Way to sell out Tyvon!
