Matt Hasselbeck; Still The Leader In Seattle
Five playoff births, four division titles, three pro-bowls and a super bowl appearance. Dude man this guy really is awful… or not. I keep hearing fans complaining about Hasselbeck and calling for rookie 6th round pick Mike Teel! Fans Hasselbeck is playing with broken ribs and yet has a better QB rating then Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, and Kurt Warner. Fans are being very unrealistic. Hasselbeck is playing with a brand new line and a new system. Before Hasselbeck came here Seattle had not one a playoff game since the 80’s! I am not saying Matt Hasselbeck is an elite QB but it’s my belief he is a top 10 in the NFL. Hasselbeck is a tough QB there is not much you can do to not get broken bones people they just happen. Hasselbeck has NO running game, NO line and his top WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is turning into TO jr. Mike Teel is not the answer people this guy did not even have that great of a pre-season. Looking at the NFC West division Seattle can still win it they are only 3 games behind and could snap it back. I would not take that many Quarterbacks over Hasselbeck he played very well against Dallas and two fumbles stopped two scoring drives and Dallas ran away with it. Hasselbeck has gone 58-45 as a starter for Seattle (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HassMa00.htm?redir) the great Jim Zorn went 44-62 as the Seahawks starter and Dave Krieg went 70-49. Hasselbeck is not a bad Quarterback fans he is a good Quarterback with a bad team around him. He need lineman he needs a running game give him those I promise a winning season. Seattle’s starting line going into camp was supposed to be; Walter Jones, Mike Whale, Chris Spencer, Rob Sims, Sean Locklear. The line has gone through more than 5 LT, 2 LG, 2 C, 1 RG, and 2 LT. This team would be much worse with Teel. Name me one 6th round pick who made the playoffs as a rookie or even finished with a winning season? Name me one Seattle Quarterback who has led the Seahawks to a Super bowl? Can’t do it Seattle fans? Don’t worry about it I can't either. Truth is Brett Favre and Kurt Warner went through bad seasons and bounced back, and yes Hasselbeck is better than Warner but that is a different topic of discussion.
I urge every one to comment and share there thoughts
