Now Raider Nation, I know what all you are thinkng: Bench Jamarcus, get a OC, fire Cable, kill Al Davis, and so on.

Well, today, even though we lost, we still looked like a football team out there today. The running game was clicking today; we had a chance to win the game, but our defensive backfield let us down early, and our o line later. Cable finally ran the ball, and that is our key to this season. JaMarcus played decent today, and that is the key to our season. The defense regrouped when it needed to, and that is the key to our season. There are alot of keys to salvage this season.

Now, we have a bye week to prepare for the second half of the season. JaMarcus has shown an inspiring work ethic, and with Chaz Schilens, his go to receiver, and his best o lineman, Robert Gallery, both coming back from injury, things will only get better for him. Darren McFadden will help bolster the running game. The defense, when clicking, is top 20 in the league. Plus, we have a good coaching staff on that side of the ball. Special teams is starting to come back (what a kickoff return by Holland today!) Things are on the uprise in Oakland. I think the Oakland Raiders will finish 7-9.

To stop the losing, I believe Cable needs to change his playbook with all that extra time in the bye week. We need to keep running the ball, and throw less. We need more trick plays. We need to keep throwing in blitzes on defense. But anyways, we need to get healthy, and study film and all that good stuff to help us bolster our football IQ's. We need to review what we did wrong, and go out and change it. This needs to be a Commitment To Excellence.

We need to start Schilens and Murphy, and have DHB and JLH as our slot recievers. JLH showed some life today, along with DHB, but still, Schilens would help Russell immensely. Cable needs to get the O line straightened out. With Gallery coming back, i'd say that Henderson and Gallery start on the left side, Satele at center, Carlisle and Barnes on the right. That's a solid O Line. The 3 headed machine will run for 150 yards a game. JaMarcus has to be ok for us to win; he is getting better, and he is showing up to the team facility early. That is so inspiring; hard work pays off in the end. Zach Miller and Gary Russell need to be utilized consistently. O line needs to be solid.

On defense, the front four is top 10 in the league. They have really stepped up this year, and it is no longer a weakness of this football team. The young guys are rotating nicely, and Shaughnessy had a sack to go along with it today. The linebackers are producing. Jon Alston had a nice tackle for a loss that I saw today; it's good to see him doing good. The backfield was suspect, but then recovered nicely in the second half. i belive we have a solid backfield. We need to keep throwing in blitzes and keep communicting. I saw Morrison and Howard throwing signals, and Alston was yelling. That was a nice thing to hear; we didn't communicate well last year. If we have them playing with heart and passion every week, along with throwing in blitzes, and the running game is on, and JaMarcus is ok, we are a .500 football team. We need to bring that heart and passion every week starting now. We will improve; we already are.

So, my point is, If Cable starts to mix his playcalling, the defense throws in blitzes, our football team comes to work with lunchpales every week, and we have heart and passion like we did against the Eagles, then we are a .500 football team. The key to wiining for us is if the running game is clicking, JaMarcus does ok, and utilizes Miller and Gary Russell; our recievers catch some balls, and the O Line is ok; on defense, we need to keep up the intensity and be solid. If so, then we will finish 7-9, just like 3 analysts on NFL.com predicted. We are improving Raider Nation; you'll see the results.

7-9, and no more losing...GO RAIDERS, LETS CHANGE!!!
