Why LeBron James Will Be the Greatest When It's All Said and Done
Michael Jordan is the NBA's greatest player of all time. That statement is a fact, not an opinion.
Whether you like him or not, you simply cannot argue against it.
Just look at his accomplishments: Six championships, five MVP's, fourteen trips to the All-Star Game, ten scoring titles.
The list goes on.
For years, talented young stars entering the league have been foolishly labeled, "The Next Jordan." The list includes anyone from Harold Miner to Kobe Bryant.
The closest thing we've seen to MJ, though, has been Bryant, who is arguably the top player in the league as we speak. The 11-time All-Star has won four championships, been named league MVP once, and has captured two scoring titles.
And you can't leave out his 81-point game.
But, will he ever dethrone Jordan as the greatest? Never.
One guy that will: LeBron James. Yeah, that's a pretty bold statement, but that's what I strongly believe.
Unlike Michael and Kobe, LeBron hasn't won a ring yet, although he has made a NBA Finals appearance and won a MVP.
So, why say he will end up being the greatest? Just because he's only 24 (seven years younger than Kobe) and has many years ahead of him. And that's assuming he doesen't pull a Penny Hardaway and get injured.
LeBron probably has a good 15 years or so left in him. That's plenty of time to win multiple championships, more MVP awards, and more scoring titles.
Of course, it won't be easy to win one championship, let alone multiple championships. Just ask legends such as Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, and Patrick Ewing.
LeBron needs to find his Scottie Pippen. In other words, he needs to be complemented with the perfect sidekick.
And no, Shaquille O'Neal or Mo Williams aren't the answer.
If he can somehow find his running mate and pull off six championships, four more MVP awards, and continue to remain a perennial All-Star, don't be surprised to see King James go down as "The Greatest."
