Chris Paul, Jamal Crawford Argue in Tunnel After Rockets Eliminate Timberwolves

Alec NathanApr 25, 2018

Former Los Angeles Clippers teammates Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford were reportedly involved in a verbal spat following some tense moments in the Houston Rockets' 122-104 closeout win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday at Toyota Center.

According to ESPN.com's Stefano Fusaro, the two were engaged in a "heated discussion" in the tunnel that stemmed from Crawford standing over Paul and yelling at him during Game 5.

"Paul arguing that whatever Crawford said to him after the tech was uncalled for," Fusaro wrote at the time. "Crawford pointing to another moment earlier in the series where Paul knocked him down didn't check on him. The argument is still going."

Fusaro added that Paul and Crawford ultimately patched things up before heading their separate ways:

Paul finished Wednesday's victory with 12 points and nine assists, while James Harden and Clint Capela shouldered the scoring load to the tune of 24 and 26 points, respectively.

Now safely through to the second round, Houston will sit back and wait to see if the Utah Jazz or Oklahoma City Thunder await in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Utah, which leads the series 3-2, coughed up a 25-point lead in Game 5 on Wednesday night as the Thunder forced a Game 6 that will tip off Friday night at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
