Daryl Worley, Raiders Agree on Contract; CB Was Cut by Eagles After Arrest
On Monday, the Oakland Raiders announced they signed free agent cornerback Daryl Worley.
Worley was available as a free agent because the Philadelphia Eagles announced they released him on April 15 following his arrest. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Worley was arrested "when he became combative with police." A gun was found at the scene, and Rapoport noted the cornerback was "found passed out inside a vehicle blocking a highway."
Worley played the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, and the Eagles acquired him this offseason via trade for wide receiver Torrey Smith.

The Panthers selected the West Virginia product with a third-round pick in the 2016 draft. He appeared in 31 games during his two seasons for Carolina, tallying 88 combined tackles and one interception as a rookie and 64 combined tackles and two picks in 2017.
This signing is part of an extended effort on Oakland's part to address its secondary this offseason.
Adam Caplan of SiriusXM Radio detailed some of the moves:
It makes sense the Raiders have added so many cornerbacks considering they were an abysmal 26th in the league in passing yards allowed in 2017. The secondary struggles were a large reason they went from 12-4 in 2016 to just 6-10 and outside the playoff picture last year.
