L2M Report: Marcus Morris Committed Violations Before Hitting Winner vs. Thunder

Alec NathanMar 21, 2018

The NBA announced in its Last Two Minute Report Wednesday that, upon review, Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris committed two violations before hitting a game-winning three against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.

According to the league, Morris should have been called for a five-second violation on the inbounds pass that preceded his go-ahead triple and whistled for traveling before he released the shot because he moved his pivot foot prior to dribbling.

The NBA stated Morris' five-second violation was "detectable with stop watch," while the travel was "observable in enhanced video."

Unfortunately for the Thunder, Morris' shot counted and it handed the Celtics a 100-99 victory that snapped Oklahoma City's six-game winning streak.

"It was a tough shot," Thunder swingman Paul George said, according to the Associated Press' Kyle Hightower. "We live with him taking that shot. He made it. Kudos to him for making big shots."

The Thunder will attempt to rebound Friday at home against the Miami Heat, while the Celtics will kick off a four-game road trip Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers
