"I was being an assh--e last night," Durant said, per 95.7 The Game. "I was being a jerk."
The forward received two technical fouls during the game, with his second coming in the final minutes. He said afterward referee James Williams was "looking to try to tech me up to get me back," per Chris Haynes of ESPN.com.
He has since apologized to the official and accepted any punishment, however.
"I deserve whatever the league is going to throw at me," Durant said Wednesday, per Melissa Rohlin of the Bay Area News Group. "I wish I had handled that better, obviously. But it was kind of a heated moment for me. I could be better. It was a great learning experience for me."
"I can't react like that," he added. "I wish I could apologize to James because that's definitely out of my character."
While Durant hasn't typically had these reactions throughout his career, he already has 10 technical fouls this season (he had eight in 2016-17), and he has four ejections after being thrown out of just one game in his first 10 years.
