OAKLAND, CA - OCTOBER 18: Donovan McNabb #5 of the Philadelphia Eagles talks with teammate Michael Vick #7 and JaMarcus Russell #2 of the Oakland Raiders at the end of an NFL game at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on October 18, 2009 in Oakland, California. Yesterday was just fair although Penn State won.  Not many cheers after the Phillies loss.  Now we wait for game 3 with baited breath.  Jeff is not watching with us.  Jeff is home alone and seriously in a funk since the Phillies and Eagles both lost.  His fantasy team was also hosed.  It is really weird watching my husband's ups and downs based on Phillies and Eagles.  Once it is regular hockey season that will also play a role.

Eagles looked horrible today - I was going to pick them to lose in this week's pool but on Jeff's advice played them.  Under normal circumstances who would have thought this would have been the losing week.  Nothing is normal anymore.  Not in my house and not for the Eagles today.   I think it is more the Eagles could not get an offense together than Oakland being much improved.  Eagles tend to play up to a good team and play down to a bad team.   Eagles are coming away with mucho injuries as well.  Perhaps their arrogance will be held in check now.

The Phillies are playing and I am sitting in my office making a call home her and there...Rauuuuul made an amazing catch and Cliff Lee just went 3 up and 3 down.  There is a church group enjoying my 102' TV in the meeting room watching the game and having fun.  Jeff is home alone in bed and I am sitting here writing and watching the game from my office.  This is a very solitary playoff.  Cancer does that.  Somehow it is not fair but it is happening in homes all around the world.

Tonight I am watching with Josh and listening to the sounds of  families enjoying the game.  There are oldsters, youngsters and even a baby.  Life goes on and we are all Phillies fans!  Shane Victorino just got a hit and the cheers and laughter are making me smile, that's a good thing!
