Manchester City Beats Tottenham in ICC Match Behind Raheem Sterling, John Stones
Manchester City closed out its International Champions Cup slate with a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur Saturday night at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
John Stones, Raheem Sterling and Brahim Diaz found the back of the net for City, who followed up a dominant 4-1 triumph over Real Madrid with a thoroughly impressive showing that should have their confidence rising with August right around the corner.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola had his side humming from the start, which meant City was moving fluidly in the midfield and capitalizing on decisive movement and passes to open up chances in attacking zones.
One of those runs into Tottenham territory came in the 10th minute when Kevin De Bruyne stepped up for a free kick and curled one toward Stones—who headed the ball past Hugo Lloris for an early 1-0 lead.
The goal was the second in as many games for Stones, which represented a deviation from career-long trends, according to BBC's Simon Stone:
Spurs had a chance to equalize late in the opening frame when Harry Kane appeared to have a clean look at goal against a hard-charging Ederson Santana de Moraes, but he skied a shot just over the crossbar.
With its lead intact, City continued to press forward and apply pressure on a Tottenham defense that had trouble containing the likes of Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus at various points throughout the match.
Speaking of Aguero, the 29-year-old had scoring opportunities galore after entering as a substitute in the 60th minute, including a 68th-minute strike off the woodwork.
It was Sterling, though, who secured a long-awaited breakthrough in the 73rd minute when he slipped past the final Spurs defender and easily beat Michel Vorm for a 2-0 advantage.
Diaz added the cherry on top in the 91st minute with another short-range conversion and has now scored in two straight after bagging a late goal against Real Madrid in Los Angeles.
With the start of a new EPL season on the horizon, Tottenham and Manchester City will both head back over the pond as they continue to prepare for the 2017-18 campaign.
Spurs will be back in action Aug. 5 against Juventus at Wembley Stadium in London, while City's preseason run wraps up one day earlier with a clash versus West Ham United in Reykjavik, Iceland.
