Tottenham Transfer News: Harry Kane Comments, Ross Barkley Rumours
Harry Kane has said he is satisfied Tottenham Hotspur have not splashed the cash during the current transfer window, as other clubs spend vast amounts on fresh talent.
According to Steve Bates of the Mirror, the England striker proclaimed he agrees with Spurs in not spending huge sums and instead promoting from their youth academy to swell the first-team squad.
Per Bates, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has called current levels of spending in the Premier League "unsustainable," and he will look to youth, prompting Kane to support the supremo.

Kane said:
"It helps the young lads to hear that. It would have helped me to have that confidence from the chairman, the belief from him that they don’t need to buy other players which has happened so often in the English game now.
"So it's the perfect situation for those lads. If that’s what he said, then the young lads are there to make a chance and do the best they can. That’s down to the gaffer, but he has always had the philosophy that if you’re good enough to play you will play."

Levy and Kane's joint stance is admirable, but Spurs must refresh their squad if they want to compete for the Premier League title.
Kane has become the team's main striking threat, and their lack of variation will see the team spiral if he is injured for a period.
In other Spurs news, Everton midfielder Ross Barkley could be on his way to the Lilywhites after Toffees manager Ronald Koeman confirmed he will definitely leave Goodison Park.
According to Tom Doyle of the London Evening Standard, Koeman explained the England international will exit the Merseyside club:
"His personal situation is really not so difficult: we made a good offer to him to sign a new contract, he declined that contract and told me that he is looking for a new challenge.
"It is not Everton future any more, it is his decision, I need to respect that and then we will see what happens but what I heard from the board is there is not really an offer on the table for Ross. My priority is not Ross, with respect, it is his decision. I look more to other players. I knew (this) at the end of the season."

Football journalist Richard Buxton was shocked by the news:
Per Doyle, Barkley will carry a £50 million price tag, but the fee should fall as the advent of the new season approaches.
Barkley has stagnated at Everton, and Koeman has never been the keenest advocate of the player's talent.
However, the midfielder excelled as he travelled through the ranks, and working under Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino could refuel his tank.
Barkley could develop into a top-class attacking force at Tottenham, and if he follows the path of Dele Alli, his stock could explode in north London.
The player is still only 23, and he has plenty of time on his side as he seeks a new challenge.
