Arsenal Transfer News: Olivier Giroud Discussed by Arsene Wenger Amid Rumours
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Olivier Giroud is relishing the competition for places up front at the club amid speculation linking him with a move away.
The Mirror's Joe Mewis relayed his comments: "Giroud fancies the competition. As a manager, you have him on your back, wanting to play. He fights hard, you know. I like the way he responds to what's happening. He is focused and determined and showed that on this tour."
Everton, AC Milan, West Ham United and Marseille are among the clubs rumoured to be interested in the Frenchman, per Mewis.

Giroud was restricted to a back-up role for large parts of last season after Alexis Sanchez moved up front, and despite starting just 17 matches in all competitions, he contributed 16 goals and seven assists.
The 30-year-old was more clinical than he's often given credit for, per Squawka Football:
The striker now faces the prospect of competing with compatriot Alexandre Lacazette following his £52 million arrival from Lyon this summer.
He is typically ahead of Lacazette in the pecking order for France but now risks slipping behind him before the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Sports journalist Alex Terrell suggested the pair could play together:
Indeed, given Giroud's aerial ability, he can give the attack a different dimension, making him a useful player to keep around either as a potential partner for Lacazette or alternative.
Arsenal's inclusion in the UEFA Europa League could see them play even more games than normal next year, too, so there should be plenty of scope for Wenger to rotate his side with the team competing on multiple fronts.
Giroud may still not quite enjoy the role he desires, but he should play a significant part in their campaign next year if he stays at the Emirates Stadium.
