A new dawn beckons for Milan at the San Siro after the club's Chinese owners displayed an early intent to stockpile the squad with a higher grade of player.
The glossiest among those new faces brought in by manager Vincenzo Montella is former Juventus man Bonucci, one of the best central defenders in the world, who was given a hero's welcome following his move:
However, it seems unlikely Montella will be able to call upon last season's UEFA Champions League finalist so soon after his transfer was completed.
Montella will nevertheless have a new array of weapons to test out in Guangzhou after Squawka confirmed the likes of on-loan Franck Kessie, centre-back Mateo Musacchio and attacker Hakan Calhanoglu had all travelled to China:
The Rossoneri will also have a new focal point in attack following the arrival of Andre Silva from FC Porto, and left-back Ricardo Rodriguez could emerge as a new star of the team following his move from German outfit Wolfsburg.
Dortmund manager Peter Bosz hasn't been granted nearly as much spending freedom as his upcoming opponents in this transfer window, but new defender Omer Toprak has started in both Dortmund's pre-season friendlies thus far.
Tuesday will also provide midfielder Mario Gotze with an opportunity to clock some much-needed minutes after making his return to play in the 3-2 win over Japanese outfit Urawa Reds on Saturday:
The Germany international missed more than three months due to a metabolic disorder and will be seeking his first start since then against Milan.
One starlet to watch out for in particular will be Dortmund's Turkish maestro Emre Mor, who came off the bench to score twice in three minutes against Urawa and will be hoping for a starting berth against Montella's men.
