It'll be Hart's second year in succession out on loan from the Etihad Stadium, having joined Torino for the previous campaign. Here's a look at some of his best moments in Serie A:
The 30-year-old's stock has fallen over the past 12 months, with City boss Pep Guardiola bringing in Claudio Bravo last summer and relegating Hart to third choice.
A switch to Torino took plenty by surprise, although Hart embraced his time in Serie A, immersing himself in the culture of Italian football and seeking to add different facets to his game. However, despite his high-profile acquisition, he wasn't always convincing for the Granata.

Indeed, the shot-stopping quality Hart long showcased for City was scarce, while his decision-making was often erratic too. As WhoScored.com noted, at times Hart made costly mistakes for Torino:
Still, Hart has obvious qualities as a 'keeper that'll benefit West Ham. The England man knows all about the Premier League, is a proven winner and is a leader at the base of the team. Additionally, for a side of the Hammers' pedigree, a player of his reputation should be considered a coup.
Slaven Bilic's side struggled with their goalkeepers last season, with Adrian and Darren Randolph both far from convincing during various spells between the sticks.
Considering the financial aspects of the loan move, Sky Sports News HQ's Kaveh Solhekol thinks this is smart business from West Ham:
Following a year away from the irrepressible intensity of the Premier League, Hart will hope to kick-start his career again at the London Stadium and help a talented West Ham squad improve on their disappointing 11th-place finish from 2016-17.
Hart will also be desperate to keep hold of his starting position in the England side with the 2018 FIFA World Cup on the horizon. With the likes of Jack Butland, Fraser Forster and Jordan Pickford for competition, he needs a strong campaign if he's going to start in Russia next summer.
