Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Kylian Mbappe, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly held a three-hour meeting with Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe on June 14, with the club still said to be pursuing an ambitious swoop for the youngster.
According to France Football (h/t Get French Football News), Wenger spoke with the 18-year-old in an attempt to outline why moving to the Emirates Stadium would be to his benefit. The Arsenal boss is said to have referenced how well Thierry Henry developed under his guidance.
Per France Football, it's suggested Mbappe's mother is keen for him to move to Real Madrid, with Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane and club president Florentino Perez reported to have held talks with the forward.

But Arsenal are reportedly not ready to give up their pursuit of Mbappe, that despite the capture of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
As noted by Jason Burt of the Daily Telegraph, it appears those sides who want to pinch Monaco's top talent need to act quickly:
If the Gunners were to convince Mbappe to head to north London, it would be a remarkable coup. That's because the Monaco youngster is rated as the hottest prospect in world football at the moment.
As Monaco surged to the top of the Ligue 1 table and into the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season, his vibrant forward play was prominent. Most impressively, Mbappe has a big-game temperament too. Per Squawka Football, some of his best performances came in huge games:
Any side in world football would want the youngster, although with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested—not to mention Monaco's reluctance to sell their star man—a deal would be tough to strike.
After a solitary breakthrough campaign and with a World Cup to come next summer, another season with the French champions would be wise at what remains an embryonic point in his career.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Exit Rumours Intensify

According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is poised to reject any offer of an extended contract from the club.
The report stated the chances of the England international agreeing a new deal are now "virtually nil" pushing the 23-year-old closer to the Emirates exit door.
The piece also noted that "sources close to the player have told Sky Sports News HQ contract negotiations are at an impasse, with no new talks planned." The former Southampton man is reportedly "frustrated" at the "impasse."

Despite failing to kick on since his move to Arsenal in 2011, some big clubs are said to be interested in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain. Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are all named in the piece.
Football journalist Joel Rabinowitz believes Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a fine fit at Anfield:
Given Oxlade-Chamberlain only has one year remaining on his current deal, it's clear he has some concerns about committing to a long-term stay at Arsenal. And that's understandable.
At this point in his career, he should be playing regularly in a set role and making clear progress as footballer. It feels as though we've been waiting for Oxlade-Chamberlain to begin that process for a little too long now and perhaps a change of scenery would ignite his ambling career.
