Juventus Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Douglas Costa and Blaise Matuidi
Juventus have reportedly agreed terms with Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa and are also preparing to try to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi, according to reports from two Italian newspapers.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Robert Cottingham of MailOnline) noted Juve have "reached an agreement with Bayern over winger Douglas Costa, who is free to leave Munich."
The report also detailed the terms of this proposed transfer: "Juventus have a deal in place to take Costa on loan from Bayern for two seasons at a cost of £7 million, with a £26.5 million fee agreed should they choose to make the move permanent."

Costa would add a lot of pace to the Bianconeri's ranks, as well as a natural player for the left side. Manager Massimiliano Allegri deployed target-man striker Mario Mandzukic on the flank last season, but the Brazilian would surely offer more width, quickness and trickery.
However, Costa may not be the only wide player Juve pursue this summer. A report from Italian publication Tuttosport (h/t Cottingham) has revealed how rival Serie A club Fiorentina "have accepted Juventus' offer of £35 million plus bonuses" for Federico Bernardeschi.
A deal is expected to be wrapped by July 17, per the report. Recently, Goal's Romeo Agresti reported Bernardeschi had agreed to a five-year contract to move to Turin.
Bernardeschi is more of a forward than Costa, with his varied movement and runs through the middle adding fluidity to any attacking line. Putting either one, or both, of Costa and Bernardeschi in a group already featuring Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain would give the Old Lady one of the more versatile forward lines in Europe next season.

Of course, Allegri would still need to ensure there is a secure enough base behind his array of attacking talent. It explains the interest in Matuidi, per another report from Tuttosport (h/t Cottingham): "The paper headline their Sunday edition with a photo of Matuidi accompanied by the caption: 'After Douglas Costa, on to Matuidi.'"
Landing Matuidi would be a coup for any top club. The 30-year-old is a true workhorse, a dynamic box-to-box runner who ties together defence, midfield and attack with his perceptive and relentless movement.
Matuidi's energy and quality would dovetail superbly with the brawn of Sami Khedira and the artistry of Miralem Pjanic.

This isn't the first time Matuidi has been linked with Juve. Last month, Italian source Corriere dello Sport (h/t Metro) reported the Serie A giants were willing to offer winger Juan Cuadrado as part of any deal for the France international.
Offloading Cuadrado makes sense of Juve's interest in Costa and Bernardeschi. Allegri appears determined to make his side younger on the flanks, while acquiring a veteran such as Matuidi would keep the engine room strong.
