Prior to that, Enzo delivered a heartfelt promo in which he asserted Big Cass wouldn't be where he is now without Enzo's help. Bleacher Report's Mike Chiari was a fan of the segment:
The ongoing feud between Enzo and Big Cass works on two levels.
For one, the two have tagged together for years. Fans have watched them rise through the ranks at NXT to become one of the most popular teams on Raw. Their inevitable split was bound to be a memorable moment, similar to Shawn Michaels throwing Marty Jannetty through the window of Brutus Beefcake's barber shop.
In addition, both Enzo and Big Cass can back up what they've claimed so far. Big Cass has often carried Enzo in the ring, so it's understandable why that would grow tiring eventually. At the same time, Big Cass may not be as big of a star at the moment without Enzo's skills on the microphone.
The two have had a mutually beneficial relationship, and the implosion of their in-ring bond makes their Great Balls of Fire clash one of the most anticipated bouts on the card.
