Today, I thought about the title, A Few Good Men. It depicts what we need on the Oakland Raiders team.

Should we boycott? Maybe.

Should JaMarcus be benched? Not certain.

Should Tom Cable be replaced? It looks like it, because his numbers aren't so good.

During the three-year era when the win-loss ratio was greater than any other three consecutive years, we had George Blanda, Daryle Lamonica, and a couple of wide receivers who had glue on their hands, it seemed. We had George Atkinson and a few more good men. Gene Upshaw was probably on the field, too.

The teamwork was phenomenal. Even now, when I asked one of the former players what made the Oakland Raiders so good, he answered, "We were a team."

So a few good men who truly have a team mentality, and who have that intuition and synergy are what we need. A few good men who are totally tuned in to the plays and to each other, is what we need.

How do you build that camaraderie? I admit, I do not know. I know how to build it in my profession, but I need one of the Bleacher Creature experts to tell us, right now.

Now, if we were to boycott, who do we talk to if we are effective?

If Cable or JR is removed, who would be able to build that team spirit and cohesiveness needed to turn this thing around?

I am teaching about 200 students this semester. They are looking at me and smirking, thinking about my dedication to the Oakland Raiders.

They have made their comments on who should play harder, who should get moved out of the way, and who should be given more time.

All I can say is, "We need a few good men to do something, and to do it quickly!"
