Week Six Fantasy Waiver Wire Pick-Up

This isn't the article that tells you (or suggests) who to start, sit, or look out for. This isn't the one that advises you who would make a good bye week stop-gap. This is the article that say, "Hey, this guy is hot, ready, and available. Pick his ass up!"

These six guys are solid plays for the future, and are all reasonably available in Yahoo! leagues:


Donald Brown, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Available in 42 percent of leagues.

Brown has worked his way into a fair time-share with Joseph Addai, as he's racked up over 130 yards, both in the air and on the ground. He's also displayed his wheels and vision on two scores, and has received at least eight total touches in each of his last three games.

Excuse him for not "going off" against a tough Tennessee defense in week five. Brown is largely available and ready to help you out as a solid Flex play.


Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seattle Seahawks

Available in 43 percent of leagues.

Think his back is still an issue? Hasselbeck returned in top form, throwing four touchdown passes and leading Seattle to an unlikely cakewalk win, 41-0 over the Jacksonville Jaguars. And he didn't even hook-up with his favorite target, John Carlson.

There's a lot to like about Hasselbeck going forward, as long as his offensive line holds up.


Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, New York Giants

Available in 46 percent of leagues.

I know he's the back-up to Brandon Jacobs, but are people not getting it? Bradshaw gets enough carries to make him a solid Flex play, and is producing at the level of a RB2. He's topped 100 yards rushing in two of his last three games, and scored twice last week.

Bradshaw has already topped last season's rushing total by 20 yards, and he's still got 11 games to go.


Donnie Avery, WR, St. Louis Rams

Available in 64 percent of leagues.

I know, he's a Rams receiver, emphasis on "Rams." But still, he caught six balls and a touchdown last week, and has the Rams original inept starting quarterback under center.

But really, He's their No. 1 and he's showing life. That has to mean there's hope for the future, right?


Miles Austin, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Available in 65 percent of leagues.

He's running into a bye week, but you can't help but grab and stash this gem waiting to happen. Oh, wait, he already happened. Ten catches for 250 yards and two scores? Yeah, that's not a gem. That's gold, my friends.

Dallas coaches are already dripping saliva all over their playbooks and thinking of new ways to get the ball to Austin. He's a WR3 when the Cowboys get back to work in week seven.


Austin Collie, WR, Indianapolis Colts

Available in 86 percent of leagues.

Collie broke-out with a sensational game on Sunday Night Football, erasing his previously impressive six-catch, 65-yard and one touchdown performance. Now, instead of being on your roster bubble, you need to grab hold of Collie and his eight-catch, 97-yard and two touchdown performance and contemplate using him in week seven.

He's on a bye this week and faces the possibility of losing time to Anthony Gonzalez in the next two to three weeks, but he could be a quick fix if you're dealing with an injury to Calvin Johnson, Jerricho Cotchery, or are even a Gonzalez owner.


Other notable players available in over 75 percent of leagues: Jeremy Maclin (Eagles), Chad Henne (Dolphins), Mike Wallace (Steelers), Sammy Morris (Patriots)

Maclin was money last week, but his role is uncertain, Henne looked sharp on Monday night, Wallace continues to be involved in the passing game, and Morris is the starter in New England's backfield.
