Manchester United Transfer News: Antoine Griezmann Latest, David De Gea Rumours
Atletico Madrid forward and reported Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann has confirmed he will not be on the move this summer, stating it would be a "low blow" to leave the La Liga side in light of their transfer ban.
Atletico were slapped with an embargo on signings this summer, meaning if Griezmann were to be sold, they wouldn't be able to acquire a replacement. Speaking to Telefoot (h/t Alex Martin and Peter South of MailOnline) the Frenchman is adamant he won't be going anywhere as a result.
"The court of arbitration for sport sanction has been passed," he said. "I've decided to stay. It's been another good season and hopefully we can make some good signings in January. It's a tough moment for the club, for my team-mates, and it would be a low blow to leave now."

As noted in the report, contrasting stories have emerged in recent weeks about Griezmann's future, with the Red Devils said to be the main pursuers. Supporters have been unsure as to whether the 26-year-old would move on or not:
The aforementioned quotes are the clearest indication yet that United will not get their man, though, meaning manager Jose Mourinho will have to look elsewhere in pursuit of a new forward.
Griezmann would have undoubtedly been a tremendous acquisition for the Old Trafford club. Per Squawka Football, he's one of the most dangerous attacking players in European football:
The former Real Sociedad man has come on so much since joining Atletico in 2014. Manager Diego Simeone has converted Griezmann from a winger into a split striker; from a more central position, his searing speed, eye for goal and creativity have made the No. 7 so difficult to contain for La Liga defences.
Atletico supporters will be delighted that their star man is set to stick around for a while yet, as they seek to bridge the gap to their local rivals Real Madrid, the Spanish and European champions. United will find it tough to identify a target who can offer what Griezmann would have added.
David De Gea Rumours

According to Duncan Castles of the Sunday Times (subscription required), Manchester United have advised Real Madrid only an offer of £66 million would be enough to land David De Gea this summer.
Castles added that United would only be willing to accept a lower fee if the Spanish giants include Alvaro Morata as part of any deal.
"The United manager regards him [Morata] as a potential solution to the problem caused by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's double cruciate ligament rupture," Castles noted. "According to Old Trafford sources, United would be prepared to discount De Gea's fee by £43 million if Morata moves in part-exchange."

De Gea has long been linked with a move to the Spanish capital, with a transfer to Los Blancos falling through in the summer of 2015.
Although Madrid have a fine goalkeeper in Keylor Navas, the United man has established himself as one of the best in the world in recent years. Football journalist Jonathan Fadugba believes De Gea would improve Real:
The Red Devils will be desperate to keep hold of the player. After all, Mourinho is looking to build something at Old Trafford and has done a decent job laying some foundations in his first season in charge.
Losing a goalkeeper of De Gea's calibre would undo a lot of that good work, and even with a potential £66 million in the bank, getting a replacement close to the Spaniard's standard would be so difficult.
