It's been a long Superbowl letdown for us Raider fans. I can still remember how happy I was that day when the Raiders were in the Superbowl. Then when the game started the mood changed dramatically. Since then it's been one letdown after another.

When Randy Moss arrived I thought for sure he was going to make us a good team again. A few years later we end up dealing him for a bag of peanuts because he more or less gave up on the team. Al Davis has been mico-managing this team into the ground. He has wasted draft pick after draft pick trying to make his fantasy dream team. Just think of the team we could have if he had taken Calvin Johnson instead of Russell and then Joe Flacco instead of McFadden?

Every season we see the same thing yet every year I hope that we will be able to reverse the trend. This season has been extra disappointing because we have all this young talent and seem to be regressing week by week. Al Davis will never admit failure though, he is one of those people who just deflects the blame on someone else. As long as Al Davis insists on micro managing this team we will not see anything improve. Half our problem is bad coaching and who would want to come coach in Oakland when you have no real say in your operations?

It's time to hire a GM Al, as a Raider fan I am greatful for all you have done but it is time to let someone else try. Allow the Raiders to return to excellence instead of this embarrassment we see every week. Gannon may have been right though, we may need to blow this team up and start again. We might also need to accept the fact that Russell is not a NFL caliber quarter back.
