Tottenham Transfer News: Fresh Dele Alli Rumours, Latest on Max Meyer
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to hand Dele Alli his third contract in less than 18 months as they seek to keep their star out of Real Madrid's clutches. Meanwhile, Schalke's Max Meyer has suggested he could leave the Veltins-Arena this summer.
According to Steve Stammers of the Mirror, the Tottenham talisman stands to double the £55,000 per week he currently earns after signing his last contract in September.
It appears Spurs are serious about tying the player down for the long haul, too, as any new deal is alleged to run until 2023 and will see the England international earn at least £40 million over the course of that period.

Dele is enjoying undoubtedly his best season in Spurs colours to date, and Sky Sports Statto illustrated the importance he plays in manager Mauricio Pochettino's setup:
Real Madrid may be considered one of the teams that have a realistic chance of luring Dele from north London—just as they did with Gareth Bale in 2013—although Tottenham are doing all they can to express their loyalties.
It's thanks to Dele that Spurs are four points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea and still in with a shot at the title. Match of the Day pundit Mark Lawrenson was surprised to see the technician omitted from the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year shortlist:
Elsewhere, Schalke star Meyer has encouraged speculation linking him with the German club's exit after refusing to dismiss rumours he's on his way out, with just over a year remaining on his current contract.
Speaking to German magazine Kicker (h/t Sport Witness), Meyer acknowledged his diminishing deal as a major factor and said: "The thoughts are there; my contract is running out in 2018. But everything is still open, I would call the chances, as a few weeks ago, as 50-50."
Sport Witness also cited a report from German newspaper Bild, which said Meyer could be available for as little as €20 million (£17 million), which could work out as a bargain for one of the Bundesliga's biggest prospects.
That being said, there may be a reason why Meyer is coming upon the last year of his contract in North Rhine-Westphalia after German football writer Alex Chaffer highlighted the midfielder's dip in form this term:
The 21-year-old has spent the past eight years of his career developing at Schalke, the club that gave him the platform to launch his Bundesliga career, not to mention making his way into the Germany squad, earning four caps.
Meyer may struggle to make his way into a Spurs midfield that already boasts talents like Dele, Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele, but that may not stop Tottenham from raising interest in his services.
