NBA Playoff Picture 2017: Latest Bracket Scenarios for Final Day of Season
The Atlanta Hawks' 103-76 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday cleared the NBA playoff picture a little bit, but much still needs to be decided before the playoffs begin on Saturday.
The Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers are both in contention for the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed, and the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat are fighting for the East's final two playoff spots.
Furthermore, the Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz are both in contention for the fourth seed in the Western Conference, which would mean home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

We'll take a look at those three battles more in-depth below, alongside the latest win-loss records for teams in the playoff mix.
Current Eastern Conference Standings and Playoff Seeds
| Place | Team | W | L |
| 1 | Boston - y | 52 | 29 |
| 2 | Cleveland - y | 51 | 30 |
| 3 | Toronto - y | 50 | 31 |
| 4 | Washington - y | 49 | 32 |
| 5 | Atlanta - x | 42 | 38 |
| 6 | Milwaukee - x | 42 | 39 |
| 7 | Indiana | 41 | 40 |
| 8 | Chicago | 40 | 41 |
| 9 | Miami | 40 | 41 |
We know this much: No. 3 Toronto will play No. 6 Milwaukee in the first round, and No. 4 Washington and No. 5 Atlanta will also face off.
Boston has the edge for the No. 1 seed over Cleveland. If the Celtics beat the Bucks on Wednesday at home, they will have home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs.
That looks likely considering four Bucks, including All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo, didn't even travel to Boston, per Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
"Bucks confirm that Delly, Giannis, Khris Middleton and Tony Snell did not travel to Boston for Wed. season finale.

However, if the C's somehow slip up, the Cavs can take the No. 1 seed with a win over Toronto. That being said, Jason Lloyd of The Athletic reported that LeBron James will not suit up:
Therefore, expect Boston to finish first and Cleveland to take second.
As far as the final two playoff spots go, Indiana and Chicago are in pole position. It's pretty simple: If they win, they are in.
The Pacers are playing a Hawks team that has already clinched its playoff position. Frankly, it would make no sense to see the Atlanta starters play significant minutes after playing Tuesday night, and it would not be surprising to see some Hawks, perhaps Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard, take the entire game off.
Therefore, Indiana should be playing at home against a team short on man power. That will likely lead to a win.
As far as the Bulls go, they are playing the worst team in the NBA (the Brooklyn Nets) at home.
Granted, the Bulls just lost to those same Nets last week, but the game is in Chicago this time around. The Nets have been dreadful on the road this year, winning just seven out of 40, so expect the Bulls to take this one.
Miami can make the playoffs with a win over Washington and a loss by either Indiana or Chicago.
The Wizards, much like the Hawks, will likely be short-handed as well. John Wall and Otto Porter sat Monday's game against Detroit with injuries, and it wouldn't make sense to bring them back for this meaningless game. Don't be shocked to see other Washington starters rest or only get some limited run on the court.
That gives the advantage to Miami, but they need help from Atlanta or Brooklyn to make the playoffs.
Current Western Conference Standings and Playoff Seeds
| Place | Team | W | L | GB |
| 1 | Golden State - z | 66 | 15 | 0 |
| 2 | San Antonio - y | 61 | 20 | 5 |
| 3 | Houston - y | 54 | 27 | 12 |
| 4 | Los Angeles Clippers - y | 50 | 31 | 16 |
| 5 | Utah - x | 50 | 31 | 16 |
| 6 | Oklahoma City - x | 46 | 34 | 19.5 |
| 7 | Memphis - x | 43 | 38 | 23 |
| 8 | Portland - x | 41 | 40 | 25 |
Every single Western Conference playoff matchup is set. No. 1 Golden State will face No. 8 Portland, No. 2 San Antonio will play No. 7 Memphis in the first round for the second straight year and No. 3 Houston takes on No. 6 Oklahoma City in a battle of MVP candidates James Harden and Russell Westbrook.
The Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz round out the field. The Clips will be the No. 4 seed with a win over the Sacramento Kings at home on Wednesday. If they lose, then the Jazz will be No. 4 with a win plus a Clippers loss.
That being said, the Clips will almost certainly hold serve and beat the Kings, who are 16-point underdogs, per OddsShark.
Utah is going to play until the bitter end, though, as three players (including All-Star Gordon Hayward) on the injury report are listed as probable, per the team's Public Relations department:
"— Utah Jazz PR (@UtahJazzPR) April 11, 2017"
The Jazz will play a San Antonio team that will likely cap its starters' minutes (or sit them entirely) with the No. 2 seed already locked in.
The pick here is that both L.A. and Utah win on Wednesday, which means that the Clippers will have home-court advantage over the Jazz in the first round.
