Austin Seferian-Jenkins Suspended 2 Games for Violating Substance Abuse Policy
New York Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins received a two-game suspension from the NFL on Wednesday for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
Brian Costello of the New York Post passed along the news. Ralph Vacchiano of SNY confirmed the details of the ban.
Seferian-Jenkins was arrested last September for driving under the influence. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released him the same day and the Jets proceeded to claim him off waivers.

Jenna Laine of ESPN reported the DUI charge came after the NFL player was pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol shortly before 4 a.m. on Sept. 23 for "driving erratically and speeding." He refused a breathalyzer test following the incident.
It marked the second time Seferian-Jenkins was cited for DUI. The first instance came in 2013 during his time at the University of Washington. Adam Jude of the Seattle Times noted the tight end pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve one day in jail.
He also received a one-game suspension for the Huskies as a result of the incident.
Seferian-Jenkins didn't make much of an impact after joining the Jets. He caught 10 passes for 110 yards and no touchdowns across seven appearances. The 2014 second-round pick has 55 catches for 713 yards and seven TDs in 25 career games.
The 24-year-old Washington native is now slated to miss New York's first two games of the 2017 regular season. He'll still enter training camp as the favorite to become the team's starter. Eric Tomlinson, Braedon Bowman and Jason Vander Laan will battle to fill the short-term void.
