Washington State Legislators Propose Bill to Allow Guns into Sports Stadiums
While National Football League and Major League Baseball regulations prevent fans from bringing guns into stadiums, legislators in the state of Washington reportedly proposed a bill that would permit such action.
AsĀ Cindy Boren of the Washington PostĀ reported Sunday, the proposed bill "would preventĀ public stadiums or the private entities that operate them from banning people with a valid concealed pistol license from entering with a firearm."
Boren added "it's a proposal that is at odds" with the established rules in place from the NFL and MLB.

If passed, the bill would extend to Safeco Field and CenturyLink Field, the homes of the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks, respectively, even though both are privately operated.
A trio of Republican representatives from Olympia, Washington, proposed the bill.
Boren noted the proposal comes shortly after a fight broke out in the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium during the Kansas City Chiefs' 21-13 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Thursday.
Twitter user @ForFriedom shared thisĀ NSFW videoĀ of the incident:
Boren referenced a Washington PostĀ examination of police data that discovered arrest totals at NFL stadiums have "trended slightly upward on a per-game basis" during the last five seasons.
This proposal may lead to a conversation onĀ security concerns, where tensions are already high with emotional fansĀ and can beĀ increased with alcohol. However,Ā Sports IllustratedĀ called the chances of this legislation passing "slim," pointing to the fact Washington is traditionally a blue state.
