Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Lukasz Teodorczyk Rumours, Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool are reportedly set to fight West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion for Anderlecht forward Lukasz Teodorczyk.

That's according to Corriere dello Sport (h/t TalkSport), where it's stated the Reds are one of a clutch of clubs keeping an eye on the on-loan Dynamo Kiev man. As well as the other two Premier League teams aforementioned, Benfica and Sevilla are also named as potential suitors for the forward.

Anderlecht can reportedly secure the signing of the 25-year-old if they put up a £4.2 million fee, although it's stated Teodorczyk may be tempted by an offer from English football's top flight.

Indeed, on the domestic front, the Anderlecht man has been in sensational form. He's made 15 appearances for the Belgian giants, finding the back of the net on an impressive 12 occasions in the process.

The catalyst for Teodorczyk's upturn in form is getting regular minutes on the field. During his time with Kiev, he showcased a lot of goalscoring instincts, although he was rarely handed consistent chances to show he could cut it at the club.

Liverpool would potentially be an enticing option for the striker, and it's little surprise to read so many elite sides are taking note. While he's shown goalscoring skill in abundance, the Pole needs to ensure he gets regular minutes to continue progressing; that's not something he'd necessarily be afforded at Anfield.

Daniel Sturridge Sale Rumours Dismissed

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has rubbished speculation linking striker Daniel Sturridge with a move away from the club.

A report from David Maddock of the Daily Mirror suggested the Reds would resist any offer from West Ham for the striker in the mid-season window, and Klopp affirmed his intentions to keep hold of the England international at his press conference on Friday.

"The funny thing is you create stories that aren't stories, and then you ask me about the stories that aren't stories," Klopp said to the assembled media, per Michael Kelleher of Sky Sports. "There is absolutely no idea to sell anybody from the first-team squad. It wouldn't make sense."

Sturridge has endured a frustrating campaign at Anfield so far. The 27-year-old has yet to score a Premier League goal in 2016-17, and Klopp confirmed he is to miss the match with AFC Bournemouth on Sunday due to injury.

In the past, a knock to Sturridge would have been a major blow to the Reds. But they've played their best football this season without him in the XI, as Roberto Firmino has done a fine job leading the line. Clearly it would be ludicrous for Liverpool to sell Sturridge in January, especially with Sadio Mane set to miss a portion of early 2017 due to his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Sturridge may not have found the net in the Premier League as of yet this season, but when he has been handed a chance, he's impressed in his all-round game. Being on the sidelines at the moment will be frustrating, but a man of his talent will have a lot to offer later in the campaign.
