Aaron Donald Comments on Eric Dickerson, Jeff Fisher and More

Joseph ZuckerNov 30, 2016

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald isn't going to let the bad blood between head coach Jeff Fisher and Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson change his opinion of the Rams legend.

In an interview with Bryan Kalbrosky of Rams Wire, Donald said he will still approach Dickerson if the opportunity arises:

"

I have a whole lot of respect for that guy. He’s a great guy. Anytime we see each other, we talk. He’s one of the best to ever play the game.

I’m going to still continue to have a lot of respect for that guy no matter what is going on between them. When I see him, I’m still going to talk to him and show the same love always.

Dickerson said during a radio interview with KLAC AM 570 in Los Angeles on Monday (via FoxSports.com's Nunzio Ingrassia) that Fisher banned him from the sideline after making critical comments about the team.

In response, Rams CEO Kevin Demoff tweeted Monday that Dickerson and any other former player could come to games and practices.

Dickerson then told the Los Angeles TimesGary Klein and Sam Farmer that he will refrain from attending Rams games so long as Fisher is the coach.

The drama has added to what is a disappointing season for the Rams. At 4-7, Los Angeles is third in the NFC West and has the third-worst record in the conference. The door isn't completely closed on the postseason, but the Rams can't afford another slip-up.

Donald is confident Los Angeles can turn things around in the final five weeks.

"We have to play dominant defense," he said, per Kalbrosky. "[Quarterback Jared] Goff is getting things going and getting 21 points on the board. As long as we do that every week and we play how we are supposed to play on defense, we can win out for sure."

With games against the New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks ahead, winning out will be much easier said than done.

At the very least, stringing a couple of victories together would help Los Angeles shift the focus away from the ongoing feud between Dickerson and Fisher.
