Andy Janovich Injury: Updates on Broncos FB's Ankle and Recovery

Latest on Janovich's Status
Wednesday, Nov. 30
Per Troy Renck of Denver7, Janovich had surgery on his ankle, and the team will place him on the injured reserve list.
Denver selected Janovich in the sixth round out of Nebraska. In 11 games, he rushed for 33 yards and caught five passes for an additional 44 yards.
The first carry of his career accounted for most of those yards, via the NFL:
Denver used him mostly as a lead blocker in the running game, clearing the path for C.J. Anderson before a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery sidelined him seven games into the season. Fellow rookie Devontae Booker has stepped up since, putting up 475 yards on the ground.
However, the Broncos' rushing attack ranks 19th in the league, while quarterback Trevor Siemian has been brought down 31 times, the fifth-highest mark in the NFL.
Siemian also suffered an injury Sunday night, though his sprained foot "doesn’t sound like [a] multiweek injury," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
With Janovich done for the season, Denver's run blocking and pass protection could suffer even more.
Klis added that Juwan Thompson could take over fullback duties, though he has appeared in just three games this year.
That kind of inexperience will be difficult to rely on late in the season as the Broncos battle for a playoff spot in the vaunted AFC West, which features the 9-2 Oakland Raiders and 8-3 Chiefs.
