Thomas Has Been Dinged Up During Jaguars Tenure
Through nine games this season, the veteran tight end has hauled in 30 catches for 281 yards and four touchdowns.
He hasn't been exempt from injury problems, having already missed a game this season with an elbow injury. This came after a 2015 campaign in which he missed the first four games because of a broken finger.
Now in his second year with the Jaguars, he's been unable to regain the form that made him such a dangerous target with the Denver Broncos.
In 2013, he put up a career-high 65 receptions for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns with Peyton Manning at the helm. While he saw his yardage decrease by almost 300 in 2014, he still recorded 12 touchdowns in his final year with Denver.
As a big red-zone threat for Blake Bortles, Thomas has taken a back seat to wide receivers Allen Robinson, Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns in Jacksonville's passing game, as his 30 catches rank fifth on the team.
Without Thomas, Ben Koyack and Neal Sterling have had to fill the void.
