DeMar DeRozan has been on a tear to start the season, and defenses across the league are doing everything they can to slow him down.

Sacramento Kings swingman Rudy Gay had a creative idea to do just that.

Gay picked up DeRozan's loose sneaker from the baseline and tossed it carelessly into the crowd, hitting an unassuming man who was on his phone.

Note to fans everywhere: Flying shoes are apparently a threat now.
