Arsenal Transfer News: Latest on Aaron Ramsey, Fresh Gunners Rumours
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey in a £25 million deal.
According to an exclusive from the Sun's Phil Cadden, Los Blancos are confident of successfully appealing their impending transfer ban and hope to bring in the Wales international in a bid to freshen up their midfield, with James Rodriguez and potentially Luka Modric expected to move on by the summer.
Real will be able to offer Ramsey a "substantial increase" on his £90,000 weekly salary and could acquire him in something of a cut-price deal.
He has less than two years remaining on his contract, and it is believed Arsenal still owe the Spanish giants £11 million from Mesut Ozil's transfer, which could be set against Ramsey's fee.

The Welshman has been absent for much of the campaign with injury, and despite his versatility—which allows him to play in central midfield, out wide or in a more advanced role—the Gunners' form and strength in depth could make it difficult to force his way back into the starting lineup.
Indeed, Arsenal also have Granit Xhaka, Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny and Santi Cazorla vying for the two central-midfield places, while they have pacier options on the flanks.
Ramsey's passing range, work rate and effectiveness going forward helped him stand out for Wales at UEFA Euro 2016, per OptaJoe:
Arsenal fans will be familiar with the 25-year-old's goalscoring talents, per the Gunners' official Twitter feed:
Indeed, Ramsey has netted 44 goals for the Gunners since joining the club from Cardiff City in June 2008, while his creativity has yielded 42 assists.
However, he has perhaps slipped into the tendency of choosing to shoot when a better alternative would be a pass, per Football365's Daniel Storey:
When links to Barcelona emerged in the past, Ramsey admitted to harbouring ambitions of playing in La Liga. Per the Guardian's Stuart James, he said: "One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it’s like and to experience that."
The prospect of playing alongside Wales team-mate Gareth Bale would likely make Real even more tempting if they do come in with an offer.
Much depends on Real's success or failure in overturning their transfer ban—it's unlikely Ramsey would be willing to move there and sit on the sidelines until he could be registered in January 2018—but as excellent a player as he is, Arsenal have the players to cope with his sale.

Meanwhile, per the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba, Arsenal will need to shell out £10 million to land Charlton Athletic star Ademola Lookman after fellow admirers Everton had a £7 million offer rejected.
Liverpool and Manchester City are also interested in the 19-year-old and, like Arsenal, have scouted him.
The striker broke into the Addicks first team last year, netting five goals, and he has bagged another five so far this season including an impressive brace in the FA Cup:
Lookman has come a long way from Sunday League football, where he plied his trade before joining Charlton in 2014, and he seems to have real potential.
However, £1 million for each senior goal he's scored is a significant sum—even if Arsenal could afford it—and the Gunners wouldn't be able to offer him anything like the game time he's currently receiving.
Ultimately, he'd be best served staying at the Valley put for the time being.
