WWE SmackDown: Live Results, Reaction and Analysis for October 18

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of the October 18 episode of SmackDown.

James Ellsworth, the most unlikely candidate for a world title opportunity since Barry Horowitz, will get his chance at stardom when he challenges AJ Styles for the WWE title this week.

Daniel Bryan granted Ellsworth a shot at the belt last week during Talking Smack after Dean Ambrose assisted him with a victory over the champion. When he was first called to be one of Braun Strowman's victims, you can bet Ellsworth never thought he would end up with a title shot.

We can also expect to see more mind games from Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton, Naomi's quest to earn a spot in the next Women's Championship match and Ambrose pursuing his goal of making life difficult for Styles.
