Bailey Is Model of Consistency at Kicker Position
Per Nick Eatman of the team's official website, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett first became aware of Bailey's back injury prior to the Week 4 game against the San Francisco 49ers. While Bailey played through it, he missed a 47-yard field goal.
The 28-year-old former Oklahoma State standout has made eight of the 10 field goals he's attempted so far this season and converted all 11 of his extra-point tries.
He was named to his first career Pro Bowl last season, when he led the NFL by making 93.8 percent of his field goals and all 25 of his extra-point attempts.
Bailey is the NFL's all-time leader in career field-goal percentage at 89.9 percent. He is a big-time weapon for a Cowboys team that moves the ball on offense but tends to stall out prior to reaching the end zone under rookie quarterback Dak Prescott.
Bailey is practically automatic, so having him in the fold for a pivotal clash with the Bengals should give the Cowboys a big advantage from a special teams perspective.
