Harris' Timeline for Recovery Revealed

Wednesday, Oct. 5

Harris is expected to miss four to six weeks, according to Wojnarowski.

Per Harrison Wind of BSNDenver.com, head coach Michael Malone said during practice he doesn't expect Harris to be back for "at least a couple of weeks" after an MRI revealed the 22-year-old suffered a strained right groin.

Nuggets Hold High Expectations for Harris

Harris suffered the injury during Monday's preseason game against the Toronto Raptors, limiting him to just 10 minutes.

Denver expects point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, who was the seventh overall draft pick in 2015, to be the face of the franchise. However, the 20-year-old is entering just his second season, and Harris gives him a safety net to work with while his skills develop.

Harris had a breakout season in 2015-16, giving Denver a young franchise building block. He recorded 12.3 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the field in his first year as a full-time starter.
