Paul George Says He Was Not Crossed Up in USA Win over China
It appeared as if an opponent crossed up Paul George during Saturday's Olympic basketball showdown involving the United States and China.
George wants everyone to know, however, that he merely had a problem with his shoes.
"Don't believe in the hype," George told Bleacher Report after the game. "I didn't get crossed. My shoes, check out the shoes. I had too much grip."
The moment in question occurred in the closing minutes of the contest. A Chinese player halted his dribble while advancing down the court with under 3:20 left on the clock. George, in a full-court press, attempted to stop his movement. His feet failed him, though, and he tumbled to the court.
Fans in the crowd erupted.
The Americans crushed China, 119-62, but George's fall was the talk of social media after the game.
