Haden's Potential Hampered by Injury History
Injuries have been a significant theme over the course of Haden's career. He played in just five games last year, making 22 combined tackles. The Browns eventually placed Haden on injured reserve on Dec. 14.
"This has been an extremely difficult season for me personally," the 27-year-old said of the 2015 campaign, per Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. "It's upsetting that my year has ended this way. I really want to be out there with my teammates trying to help finish this season strong and on a positive note."
Then Haden underwent offseason ankle surgery in March but was able to rehab in time to play in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
There's no question how good Haden can be when he's healthy. He went to back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2013 and 2014, and it's no coincidence the Browns defense went from eighth in passing yards allowed in 2014 to 22nd in 2015. Haden's injury problems weren't the sole reason for that drop, but they undoubtedly played a big role.
