Thomas Enjoying Outstanding Rookie Season for Saints
It's unclear how or when Thomas suffered the injury, as he seemed to play throughout Week 13.
Thomas was drafted in the second round by the Saints to take over the role vacated by Marques Colston, who was released in February. He's been terrific through 12 games, leading the team in receptions (69), yards (831) and touchdowns (seven).
The Saints still have a wealth of offensive playmakers to choose from with Thomas out. Quarterback Drew Brees still has Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead, Brandon Coleman and Coby Fleener at his disposal.
Losing a talented young player like Thomas still hurts the Saints, though. They have such a small margin for error with a 5-7 record and a defense lacking impact talent, so their offense has to be firing on all cylinders if they hope to compete for a wild-card spot in the NFC.
