He's a five-time NBA champion, a two-time MVP, a 15-time All-Star and arguably the single greatest power forward of all time.
And still, after an illustrious 19-year career with the San Antonio Spurs, Tim Duncan announced his retirement from the Association with notably little fanfare.
Enter the city of San Antonio—armed with some significantly different send-off plans.
Mayor Ivy Taylor has declared July 21 "Tim Duncan Day" in honor of the Spurs legend and is encouraging all to wear and share some honorary apparel.
Perhaps even The Big Fundamental will be excited about the news. Just don't expect him to show up in anything too fancy Thursday.
