NASCAR at New Hampshire 2016: Live Results from the New Hampshire 301
Matt Kenseth worked his way up through the field all afternoon and led 38 laps to capture the checkered flag in Sunday afternoon's New Hampshire 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Kenseth didn't have the fastest car on the track, but his team made the necessary adjustments on pit road to allow him to capitalize when opportunity presented itself.
He first took the lead from Martin Truex Jr. on Lap 258 and then regained it for good from teammate Denny Hamlin on Lap 271 after the 11 car stayed out under caution while the rest of the field got fresh tires.
Tony Stewart finished second.
Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle rounded out the top-five finishers.
Alex Bowman, filling in for Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is out with concussion-like symptoms, was in position for a top-10 finish when he lost a tire late in the race. He finished in 26th position.
NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series returns to action next Sunday for the 'Your Hero's Name Here' 400 at the Brickyard of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
