Arsenal Transfer News: Alexis Sanchez Boost, Takuma Asano Linked, Top Rumours
Arsenal have reportedly turned down an approach from Juventus for star forward Alexis Sanchez, as manager Arsene Wenger "has no desire to sell the Chile international."
According to MailOnline's Simon Jones, rumours suggest Sanchez is "growing unsettled" at Arsenal, but they have held firm in the face of a move for the Chilean from Serie A giants Juve because he "remains key to Frenchman Wenger's plans."
Sanchez, 27, joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2014 for £31.7 million and became an immediate favourite at the Emirates Stadium, netting 16 goals and providing eight assists in his debut Premier League season, per WhoScored.com.
He was less effective in the 2015-16 campaign—Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe noted he reserved his best performances for the Champions League—but he still managed to score 13 goals in the English top flight.
| Club | League | Season | Appearances (as a sub) | Minutes | Goals | Assists |

| Arsenal | Premier League | 2014/15 | 34(1) | 2,953 | 16 | 8 |
| Barcelona | La Liga | 2013/14 | 27(7) | 2,386 | 19 | 10 |
| Barcelona | La Liga | 2012/13 | 18(11) | 1,707 | 8 | 9 |

Sanchez is undoubtedly one of Arsenal's star players, and along with Mesut Ozil, he can be devastating going forward.
The Old Lady are looking to replace Alvaro Morata and had Alexis on a shortlist along with Edinson Cavani and Javier Hernandez, but Arsenal have said their man is not for sale, per Gianluca Di Marzio (via Calciomercato.com).
News that the Gunners have rejected Juve's push to sign him will come as a relief to their fans.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly looking to add some more firepower to their attack ahead of the 2016-17 campaign and have made an approach for Japan forward Takuma Asano.

Per Kyodo News (h/t the Japan Times), the 21-year-old is the subject of early talks between his club, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and Arsenal, with the two sides "yet to enter full-blown discussions."
An up-and-coming star in Japan, Asano already has five caps and one goal at senior international level, most recently being employed on the right flank in a Kirin Cup match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the Japan Times report, should he make a switch to Arsenal, he would be loaned out to gain experience.
Thus he would not be the major attacking signing Arsenal are crying out for to compete with No. 1 striker Olivier Giroud.
