WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for June 29

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 28, 2016

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we'll take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

This is the last show from the recent block of episodes taped at Full Sail University, but we're still a long ways away from the next TakeOver special, so more shows will be taped in the coming weeks.

This week's episode has a little bit of everything. When it comes to the women's division, two stars with bright futures will be in action when Carmella takes on Alexa Bliss.

Carmella and Bliss could both reasonably be called up to the main roster during the July 19 draft, so this could be one of the last times we see them in NXT.

Carmella and Bliss are two women who have worked hard to carry the division after Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch left, and it may be someone else's turn soon.

We will also see newcomer Andrade "Cien" Almas going up against another fresh face in NXT named Noah Kekoa.

Almas is still riding a wave of momentum after getting a win over Tye Dillinger at TakeOver: The End, so he will likely come away from this with another victory.

However, Kekoa is no pushover. He is a 6'4" Hawaiian wrestler who has held gold in smaller indy promotions. He is only 25 years old, but he has the tools needed to be a vital asset in the future.

The tag team division will be represented by Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley, known collectively as The Hype Bros.

Ryder has been making a lot of appearances on the main roster lately, so it's nice to see his team with Rawley is still a priority for everyone's favorite broski.

The Hype Bros are one of the more established teams in NXT at the moment, so it stands to reason they will receive a title shot in the near future.

Then again, there's always the chance Rawley could be brought up to continue his team with Ryder on the main roster when the draft happens, so this could be Gargano and Ciampa's chance to gain some momentum with a big win.

The main event will feature NXT champion Samoa Joe taking on someone who has undergone a few name changes since arriving in NXT, Oney Lorcan.

Lorcan used to be known as Biff Busick, but his real name is Christopher Girard. He has been wrestling for roughly four years, and he has been with WWE since September of 2015.

Lorcan has held multiple titles in smaller organizations like Combat Zone Wrestling, but a few accolades won't help him against The Samoan Submission Machine.

Unfortunately for the oddly named rookie, this will almost definitely be an easy victory for the champ as he waits to find out who his next challenger will be for the NXT Championship.

We won't see a lot of storyline development this week, but we will get some solid wrestling, and that's why we watch NXT in the first place.
