WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for June 22

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 21, 2016

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we'll take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

This week's show will feature five matches. We will see two from the women's division and three from the men, but no bouts featuring any tag teams.

The first contest will see Biff Busick, who is now going under the name Oney Lorcan, taking on "Perfect 10" Tye Dillinger.

Following his loss to Andrade Almas at TakeOver: The End, Dillinger is looking to get back some of the momentum he built up before the event.

Lorcan, Busick, Christopher Girard or whatever you want to call him, is new to the scene, so getting a win here is just as important as it is to Dillinger.

Another newcomer will be in action this week when No Way Jose, which has to be one of the strangest names a WWE wrestler has ever used, will face Josh Woods.

Don't blame yourself if you're asking, "Who is Josh Woods?" He is working under a developmental deal and has yet to be featured in a prominent role on television.

Woods does have the right look, but we haven't seen enough from him to know if his wrestling ability is up to snuff. A good performance in this match could get him more TV time in the future.

The final match featuring the men of NXT will see Shinsuke Nakamura battling Buddy Murphy, who is going solo this week.

Murphy and his partner, Wesley Blake, have been having issues ever since Alexa Bliss abandoned them to focus on her own career.

There's no point ignoring what we all know is true. It would be shocking to see Nakamura suffer in a loss in this match.

The first bout from the ladies of the developmental system has Bayley going up against Deonna Purrazzo.

Purrazzo is not signed to a deal, but she has made several appearances for the company in recent months, so she could end up with a contract once a few more women are called up to the main roster.

Bayley needs this win to start building herself back up as she waits for her chance to challenge Asuka for the Women's Championship.

Speaking of challenging for the title, the Superstar who came up short against Asuka at TakeOver: The End will also be in action this week when Nia Jax faces Liv Morgan.

Like Bayley, Jax is looking to regain some of the momentum she lost after Asuka defeated her in a title match. With Jax having a significant size and power advantage against Morgan, we can expect to see Jax dominate her opponent.

With the exceptions of Bayley and Nakamura, this week's show doesn't feature any main event talent, which can sometimes be a good thing.

This will give us a chance to see some of the talents who might get a big push after WWE raids the roster for the upcoming brand split.

Which match are you looking forward to most on this week's episode of NXT?
