WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for June 1
Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we'll take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.
NXT TakeOver: The End takes place on June 8, so we can expect Wednesday's show to be all about tying up loose ends heading into the live special.
We will only get three bouts and a contract signing this week, which means there will likely be several video packages for the feuds which will occupy the TakeOver card.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The first match will see "Perfect 10" Tye Dillinger going up against Buddy Murphy. This will be the first time we will see Murphy since Team BAMF broke up, so this will give us an idea of how he will do as a singles competitor.
It's a little surprising WWE chose to separate Blake and Murphy before they made it to the main roster. They had great chemistry and had been together longer than most of the other teams in the division.
When it comes to Dillinger, management needs to pull the trigger. He has a lot to offer, but for one reason or another he is always booked to put other people over. If he can defeat Murphy, it might just give him the momentum he needs to start building a real push in the developmental system.
The second match of the night will feature Austin Aries battling a man who has more heat with the NXT crowd than anyone else: Elias Samson.
Whenever Samson appears, the crowd goes ballistic, which is exactly what should happen when a heel comes through the curtain.
However, Aries is the one with a big match scheduled for TakeOver against Shinsuke Nakamura, so it's unlikely Samson will get the win unless there is some kind of outside interference.
What's important for Samson at this point is to continue making the crowd hate him. If he can keep getting loud reactions, he will eventually get the push to match and will find himself with more important storylines down the line.
The only other bout set for this week's show is Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, otherwise known as The Revival.
The Revival has a chance to regain the NXT Tag Team Championships against American Alpha at TakeOver, but Gargano and Ciampa are not ones to be taken lightly. They were a popular tag team before coming to NXT, and if the past few weeks are anything to go by, WWE is finally willing to give them the push they deserve.
If Gargano and Ciampa can manage to defeat the No. 1 contenders, it almost guarantees they would be next in line for a title shot against whoever leaves TakeOver with the tag belts.
The contract signing mentioned earlier will be for the Women's Championship match between Asuka and Nia Jax.
These are the two most physically dominant women in the NXT women's division, and possibly in the entire company, but they aren't imposing in the same way.
Jax has the size and power advantage over every woman in the company, but Asuka is known for being one of the stiffest strikers in WWE, not just NXT.
It's almost a guarantee we will see them get physical during this segment, and there will be little William Regal can do to stop them from tearing each other apart.
The final show before TakeOver: The End should be entertaining, but next week is what everyone is really looking forward to. Before we wrap things up, here is a quick rundown of the card for next week's live special:
- Austin Aries vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
- American Alpha vs. The Revival (NXT Tag Team Championships)
- Asuka vs. Nia Jax (NXT Women's Championship)
- Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor (NXT Championship)
