The Rock's Raw Appearance Suggests He Won't Wrestle at WWE WrestleMania 32
The Rock returned to Raw this past Monday in Miami, and his cameo was a likely preview of what he'll be doing at WrestleMania 32.
Talking.
Rock mixed in his brand of charm and scathing insults in a backstage segment-turned-in-ring promo as he mixed it up with everybody from Big Show to The New Day.

And while Rock was able to get physical with the latter, with help from The Usos, he had a telling line at the end of his visit: "I'll see you at WrestleMania."
Taking those words at face value implies The Rock will not be featured on WWE programming until April, which severely dampens any chance of the People's Champion being involved in even a short-term storyline that leads to a match.
The last two times Rock wrestled at WrestleMania, his return was an actual return. There was no "late-breaking news" that he was set to appear. He simply showed up and went toe-to-toe with John Cena over the course of several weeks. This time around, however, it was clear that not only was this a one-off but it might be the last time he appears until WrestleMania.
The Rock has never been shy about detailing his busy schedule, from shooting Ballers to filming one of his many big-budget, A-list movies. As the No. 1 international box office star in 2015, demand for The Rock around Hollywood has only increased, making him more of a precious asset. This means the movie studios that insure him will become increasingly more cautious about him wrestling.

In December, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlingInc.com) reported these insurance issues will almost certainly prohibit The Rock from wrestling. It doesn't help that, per PWInsider.com, The Rock was injured in his last match, at WrestleMania 29, which caused his shooting schedule for Hercules to be pushed back.
So when The Rock made a pit stop in his hometown to goof around with half the WWE roster on Monday, there wasn't much to digest in terms of a potential WrestleMania program. Could this lead to a match against Big Show? A match against The Miz? Rusev? Byron Saxton? Perhaps Rocky can be protected in a six-man tag team match pitting him and The Usos against The New Day.
Though "never say never" is a popular wrestling credo, all seem very unlikely. In a perfect world, The Rock would be booked in a dream match against Triple H or Brock Lesnar, but those ships have sailed. Luckily, Rock can be just as memorable in a non-wrestling role.
Given his recent history with The Authority and family ties with Roman Reigns, The Rock would make the perfect special enforcer for the inevitable Triple H-Reigns main event. WWE could even do a callback to his WrestleMania history with John Cena in a non-wrestling segment on Miz TV.
The Rock will be a big part of a historic WrestleMania. But anything past talking should be considered a bonus.
