Barcelona's Luis Suarez Will Have His Own Statue in Home Town of Salto, Uruguay
Luis Suarez's goalscoring exploits for Barcelona this season have lit up La Liga and the Champions League, and his status as one of the best strikers in the world will be formally recognised in his home town.
Salto, in north west Uruguay, will soon have a statue in honour of the forward, reported AS.
Sculptor Alberto Morales Saravia said the statue, which will be unveiled on December 18, will depict Suarez in a Uruguay shirt "with his left arm resting by his side and his right raised with his trademark three fingers with a ball by his foot."

The project is backed by the Uruguayan Ministry of Tourism and Sport and local authorities, though Suarez is adopting a hands-off approach to its construction.
He will not be able to attend the statue's unveiling because of his Barcelona commitments, and the sculptor has been working purely off images and information on the web so as not to "bother" him.
"What I am doing is very difficult," said Morales Saravia. "I'm doing it by looking at photos."
