Georgia vs. Auburn: Live Score and Highlights
With both offenses struggling to do anything at all—especially the quarterbacks—Georgia used massive fourth-quarter plays on special teams and defense to defeat rival Auburn 20-13.
It may have been an ugly game, but the win certainly looks pretty in the record books for the Bulldogs.
Coach Mark Richt's team shook off a mid-season lull to win two games in a row, and UGA has now taken a one-game lead in the all-time series with AU and improved their overall record this year to 7-3.
With the game tied at 10-10 in the fourth, UGA's defense stuffed Auburn on a three-and-out, forcing the Tigers to punt to speedster Isaiah McKenzie. The super sophomore cut across the field and raced 53 yards for the go-ahead touchdown, to break the tie.
Georgia followed that up with a sack-fumble of Sean White by defensive end Jordan Jenkins, and after the Bulldogs recovered, they parlayed it into a Marshall Morgan field goal to take a commanding two-score lead in a game where 10 points felt like 50.
With AU needing a score, Ricardo Louis fumbled inside his own 2-yard line, and Chris Mayes recovered to all but secure the win. The Tigers got a field goal, but they couldn't secure an onside kick at the end and the Dawgs walked away with their second consecutive win in the rivalry.
AU now sits at 5-5 with Idaho and Alabama left on the schedule.
