Lions Stand Behind Matthew Stafford

Despite five interceptions and only one touchdown in his first two games as the starter, Stafford still has Jim Schwart's full support.

After Sunday's loss against Minnesota, head coach Jim Schwartz snuffed out any doubt, saying Stafford "is our quarterback."

As if they'd really crush the kid's confidence and turn to the equally inconsistent Daunte Culpepper.

While Stafford has struggled in his first two starts, he showed some promise in the first half against a solid Minnesota defense, and should continue to get better as the season goes on.

Matt Hasselbeck Has Fractured Rib

As usual, head coach Jim Mora downplayed the injury, leaving fantasy owners hanging in the balance.

Considering he was hospitalized after Sunday's loss to the 49ers, however, it's reasonable to think Hasselbeck could miss next week's action.

However, a "tweet" from Hasselbeck Sunday night stated that he'd be "all right" for Week Three. Well, thank God for tweets.

Donovan McNabb Doubtful For Week Three

Andy Reid and the Eagles staff were either being shy about the severity of McNabb's injury prior to the Saints game, or they feel good about what they saw in Kevin Kolb on Sunday.

Kolb finished just shy of 400 yards passing and threw for two scores, despite also throwing three picks.

It was a learning experienced for Kolb, and while he looked shaky at times, he got enough solid action for the coaching staff to feel comfortable and confident with him heading into Week Three.

If you own McNabb, monitor the situation, although you'd be wise to pick up Kolb if he's still available.

Marion Barber's Injury Not Believed to Be Serious

Barber apparently suffered a quad injury on a 35-yard run late in Sunday night's game, although there is no official word on his status or the specific injury.

While Barber is believed to be fine, you should monitor his status closely.

If he's even a little banged up, Dallas could afford to rest him with two high-quality backs behind him in Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.

Jaguars Lose Receiver Troy Williamson For Season

Williamson is reportedly "done" after tearing a labrum in his shoulder. This isn't a hit for Jacksonville as far as production goes, but this makes their depth at receiver virtually nonexistent.

Could we see a return of Matt Jones? Probably not, but a signing of Jones or Marvin Harrison wouldn't be completely unrealistic.

Former receiver Ernest Wilford (now a tight end) could also figure into the mix.

Julian Edelman Breaks Out, Welker Surprise No-Go For Sunday

It's a shame we couldn't get this news out to you when it hit, but hopefully Welker was out of your lineup in time on Sunday.

While it's unlikely you sat Welker and found the courage to replace him with Julian Edelman, you would have been pleasantly surprised if you had.

The former Kent State quarterback hauled in eight receptions for 98 yards and almost had a touchdown, while being targeted 16 times by Tom Brady.
